Hybrid P2P

Best of Both Worlds
Pando is a Hybrid P2P platform that leverages both P2P and HTTP protocols (Peers and Servers) to optimze content delivery for performance and cost effeciency. As your content becomes more popular, bandwidth is transparently offloaded from your CDN Servers to your consumers ("Peer Cloud"). As your content moves up and down its consumer demand curve Pando intelligently shifts between sources and protocols in real-time. Long tail content is served primarily by your CDN Servers to ensure reliability. Highly popular content is served almost entirely by your consumer base, saving you potentially millions of dollars in bandwdith fees annually.

Guaranteed Bitrate
With Pando, you set your desired minimum delivery bitrate just as you do with your CDN. If enough bandwidth is available from your Peer Cloud to maintain your desired bitrate for a particular peice of content, your Peer Cloud will be used exclusively. If not enough bandwidth is available, Pando will fallback to your CDN Server seamlessly. Consumers never notice any of the underlying delivery optimizations.

Same Viewing Experience, Only Better
Once your consumers have installed either the Pando Media Booster or Pando, their video viewing experience is indentical to that of a normal stream or video download. Since with Pando you can afford to deliver high quality media at zero incremental cost, you can thrill your consumers with your highest quality, full-screen media.

Accelerated Downloads
Once your consumers have installed either the Pando Media Booster or Pando, their video viewing experience is indentical to that of a normal stream or video download. All of the delivery effeciencies happen transparently in the background as they enjoy your media. Since you can afford to deliver high quality media at zero incremental cost, you can thrill your consumers with your highest quality, full-screen media.

Works with Any CDN
Pando has been tested with most of the major CDNs and should work with whatever CDN you use as long as they support HTTP 1.1 or higher. No configuration or additional hardware is required.
