Just got back from Supernova 2007 in San Francisco where Robert, David (VP BD) and I were on hand to announce and present our upcoming Pando Publisher HD Video distribution and monetization service. The Pando Publisher, which won us this year’s Top Connected Innovator Award (thanks TechCrunch and Supernova!) is a slick web-based media console and peer-assisted content delivery service that enables commercial content owners and media companies to distribute, track and monetize breathtaking, full-screen HD-quality video, with unlimited audiences, at radically reduced delivery costs. The Pando Publisher service represents a major milestone for our company. Having spent our first two years developing, deploying and continually optimizing the Pando P2P client on nearly 9 Million desktops, in over 150 countries and countless challenging network environments, we’re now ready to bring the power of the Pando Platform to commercial content owners and media companies. This was our product plan from day one; the “bottom-up” approach. We felt it was necessary to get the user experience right first before taking this important next step for our business. We’re now ready and excited about the opportunities ahead. These are great times for P2P in general. The reception to Pando Publisher so far has been fantastic. Here are just a few recent blog posts:
To our millions of amazing Pando Friends out there, thank you for all of your continued support. Your love for the product and enthusiastic feedback is overwhelming. Pando, as always, will remain 100% free, and soon you’ll be watching videos online in full-screen HD! Onward and upward.
